Hours: 14 hours per week (Mon - Fri), regular working hours as follows:
MON: 9am - 11.30am
TUE: 9am - 10am
WED: 10am - 2pm
THU: 9am - 10am
FRI: 8.30am - 2pm
Additional extra hours and overnights will also be required when accompanying the client on trips away.
Rate of pay: £8.75 per hour
About the position
Duties will include all aspects of personal care such as showering, bathing, dressing, and toileting including catheterising. Assistance with household tasks including domestic cleaning duties. The provision of support for social activities including shopping, attending appointments and leisure activities and assistance with administering medication as required.
From time to time you will also be required to accompany the client when she takes short breaks away - additional hours and a sleepover rate will be paid for this. Sleepover support will include preparation for bed, preparation of supper as well as the previous mentioned personal care duties.
Essential: applicants must be female, a non-smoker and have a full, clean, driving licence. You should have a person centred approach, experience of supporting disabled people with personal and home based tasks, demonstrable experience of providing personal care including medication administration, experience of supporting individuals to maintain independent living and social contacts, and be understanding of and committed to confidentiality and privacy.
Desirable: SVQ in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), understanding of equal opportunities, understanding of health & safety in the home.
You should also hold a current PVG (or be willing to apply to the scheme) and be able to provide recent references.

About the position
Based within the family home in Dunblane, 2 personal assistants are required to join a small staff team to assist a young woman wheelchair user. Applicants should be respectful of her wishes and support her to live her life in the way she chooses. Applicants should be friendly and approachable with a sense of humour as well as good language and communication skills. Duties include personal care and support to attend social activities.
Post 1: 8.30pm – 10.30pm Tuesday, Wednesday Saturday & Sunday
Post 2: 9am – 2pm Saturday & Sunday
Additional hours may be available from time to time.
Only female candidates will be considered.
A full clean UK driving licence is essential.
PVG scheme membership is essential.
